Direct-Vent FireplaceFireplace Design

The only design rules are to have fun and experiment. Consider your personal preferences in design and then extend that look to your fireplace and surround. If you don't have one yet you can still have that fireplace feeling with a direct-vent fireplace. These are prefabricated, virtually maintenance-free and easily installed just about anywhere. You don't have to sacrifice warmth with a direct-vent fireplace. They are designed to radiate heat (if desired), burn clean with gas, and some can turn on with the click of a switch or remote control.

The Outdoor Fireplace

You don't have to put away your fatwood sticks, gloves and long matches for the warm weather. An outdoor fire fixture, like a fire pit or stone-and-brick fireplace, creates an inviting setting for entertaining and relaxing outside. Fire pits are easy to use, set up almost anywhere, and can be put away when not in use. Custom-designed features add a luxurious touch to any landscape. For warmth on cool nights, making sweet and melty s'mores and roasted hot dogs, or simply for socializing, your outdoor fireplace can be the neighborhood hotspot.

Indoor FireplaceThe Indoor Fireplace

A fireplace elevates the elegance and comfort of any home. Decorating with fireplaces can be neglected but it shouldn't be. If your fireplace look has not been taken into account, be sure to extend your decorating style to the mantel, surround and hearth. Paint, custom tiling, added finishes, glazes or stains can truly transform the look. Stunning stone fireplaces make a statement with a rustic timber and heavy bracket mantel. Delicate brickwork can be painted white along with the traditional mantel and surround. If you love contrast, paint the brick one tone and the surrounding mantel another shade of the same or complementary pigment.
